Chris holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a law degree (cum laude) from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego. Chris is admitted to practice before the following:
● All the courts of the State of California;
● The 2nd Circuit United States Court of Appeals;
● The 9th Circuit United States Court of Appeals;
● The United States District Court for the Northern District of California;
● The United States District Court for the Eastern District of California;
● The United States District Court for the Central District of California; and

Steve received his undergraduate degree from San Diego State University in 1977 and a J.D. from University of San Diego in 1982. He has been a member of the California State Bar since 1982. Steve maintains membership in several professional organizations including the American Bar Association, the San Diego County Bar Association, the Southern California Association of Defense Attorneys, and the San Diego County Defense Lawyers Association, where he served as a former member of the board. Steve is also a member of the Risk and Insurance Managers Society and the Building Industry Association.
Steve's areas of practice include professional liability, premises liability, employment litigation, personal injury litigation, business litigation, construction defect litigation, litigation of mechanic’s liens, civil rights litigation, including 42 USC §1983 claims of unreasonable force, and drafting and litigating all manner of real estate, employment, and construction contracts. He has represented subcontractors, design professionals, general contractors and developers in defect cases involving a variety of structures, including commercial buildings, single-family homes and multi-unit residential condominium complexes. Steve has defended negligence claims against attorneys, construction managers, architects, engineers, accountants, interior designers, real estate brokers, and insurance brokers and agents.
Steven Shewry has over three decades worth of litigation experience. He has litigated cases involving employment issues, including wrongful termination, discrimination, non-competition clauses, retaliation and sexual harassment, civil rights, including 42 USC §1983 claims of unreasonable force, personal injury, property damage, intentional torts, wrongful death, premises liability, public entity defense, breach of contract, including employment contracts, professional errors and omissions, insurance declaratory relief actions, commercial litigation, construction site accidents, automobile accidents, trucking accidents, mechanic’s liens, construction delay claims, products liability claims, and environmental issues.
Christopher Saldaña aggressively represents clients in civil litigation, civil appeals, and civil writs. Chris has experience advocating on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts throughout California in all manner of civil claims. He focuses extensively on insurance defense claims (personal and commercial), business litigation, class claims, complex litigation, civil rights, constitutional law, consumer law, employment law (including federal and state public employment), insurance broker liability, premises liability, personal injury, products liability, and appeals and writs taken from such cases. Chris has successfully litigated cases in state and federal courts, and has authored successful petitions and briefs before the federal and state courts of appeal.
